Leadership

A message from our leadership

We welcome you to our 2021 Sustainability Report.

Citrix’s commitment to sustainability both in the workplace and our communities remained strong in 2021. We moved forward with our efforts to reduce our environmental impact and promote social equity, even as we led the charge to keep companies and their employees safe and productive in any location.

We are proud of our accomplishments during the year.

For example, we significantly cut our greenhouse gas emissions compared to our 2019 baseline: Scope 1 emissions by 6.6%, Scope 2 by 14.7% and Scope 3 by 25.0%. We were also named one of Corporate Knights’s Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations for the first time. Looking forward, we signed the SBTi Science Based Targets Call to Action Standard Commitment Letter.

Increasing diversity is one of our top social goals not only for our own workforce, but also for our suppliers. We raised our spending on diverse suppliers to $45 million — a 32.7% gain compared to 2020 — and hosted our third annual Interactive Supplier Diversity Fair.

We are fortunate to be able to generously support many worthy causes. In 2021, we raised our annual corporate giving budget to $4.5 million — enough to help fund more than 1,000 global nonprofits and increased our donations to those in our communities who were most in need. We helped to support almost 600,000 students and youth through digital learning and training We also gave $3.1 million to COVID-19 relief and recovery for children and families to meet basic needs such as food, shelter, medical care and education. More than 223,000 medical supplies were provided, including masks and protective equipment through our donations.

In 2021, our sustainability efforts earned considerable recognition during the year, including these awards:

  • CDP Climate Change “B” rating
  • Disability Equality Index® Best Places to Work for Disability Inclusion
  • 2022 100 Best Companies to Work For®

The people of Citrix, our customers and our communities deserve our thanks both for their dedication that enabled our accomplishments and their inspiration that brought out our best.

Our sustainability journey continues, onward and upward.

On January 31, 2022, Citrix announced that it had entered into a definitive agreement under which Vista Equity Partners and Evergreen Coast Capital Corporation, an affiliate of Elliott Investment Management, would acquire Citrix.  On September 30, 2022, the previously announced transaction to acquire Citrix was successfully completed with Citrix becoming a private company and being combined with TIBCO Software to form Cloud Software Group.
