Government agencies must adapt quickly to rapidly shifting constituent demands while maintaining a high level of service. Citrix partner Fujitsu helped a major German agency provide crucial support during a time of crisis through a transformed workplace that enables fast, flexible and highly mobile productivity.
The Federal Employment Agency plays a crucial role in ensuring Germany’s economic engine runs at maximum capacity by providing services including employment counseling and placement, child and family benefits. When its traditional IT model fell short of its needs, the agency turned to Fujitsu to enable its Workplace of the Future. The agency now uses Citrix XenDesktop and Citrix NetScaler to provide employees nationwide with easy and secure access to applications, desktops and data. Policies for remote, mobile and home work have already freed 10,000 people to work wherever they’re most productive, with a goal to enable anywhere, any-device computing for the lion’s share of its 160,000 employees by 2020.
The flexibility, standardization and easy, quick workspace delivery made possible by the Citrix solution proved especially valuable in 2015 as an estimated 800,000 refugees reached Germany and created additional need for the Federal Employment Agency’s mobile and adaptive workspaces to deliver highly mobile, flexible, consistent, rapid and human-centric services—something that would have been impossible five years ago.
“As our world becomes ever more connected, human-centric innovation is essential to empower people with access to information and infrastructure. This is the key to securing business growth, value and social wellbeing in a new digital age,” says Dieter Veit, Fujitsu’s Senior Account Manager for the Workplace of the Future project.
